Global Marine Power, Builders of Hustler Powerboats Turn to Diesel for their High Performance Line of Pleasure Boats, Offers Free Fuel for One Year
Hustler Powerboats innovators of the stepped hull design used by 80% of all builders today is changing the high performance industry once again. With the rising fuel costs, Hustler has turned to Yanmar Diesel Engines as an optional source of power of their high speed performance boats.
New York, NY (PRWEB) July 9, 2006 -- Hustler Powerboats announced today they will be joining forces with Yanmar Marine to offer their customers a more fuel efficient pleasure and speed boat. This new engine package will offer over 50% more fuel efficiency than gas engines without losing the speed and maneuverability that they are known for around the world.
In a side by side test of their 50’ Performance Yacht , the triple engine 525hp gas engine boat ran 87 mph top speed with a 150 gallon an hour fuel consumption rate compared to the triple 480 hp Yanmar diesel application which ran 86 mph top speed with only a 69 gallon an hour fuel consumption rate. That’s an astonishing 54% increase in fuel economy without losing any performance. Hustler also stated that the propulsion system on the gas powered application is rated for up to 600hp while on the diesel application it’s rated for up to 1200 hp which shows how much more reliability the diesel package offers. Hustler says the new Yanmar package does not only increase the boats fuel economy but is safer and will increase its long term value. Hustler will increase its production of diesel powered performance boats this year and will also be looking at other new technologies that will greatly improve fuel economy.
Global Marine Power, the builder of Hustler Powerboats has been constructing performance boats since the early 80’s and were the innovators of the stepped hull design in performance v-bottom boats. Their state of the art facility, (ex home of the Grumman F-14), is based in Calverton, NY and produces models ranging from 21’ to 50’.
