Ceridian LifeWorks Helps Employers Better Identify and Manage Employee Absences

New reporting feature helps cut down employee absenteeism; Employers now able to get a more detailed view of why and when people miss work

Minneapolis (PRWEB) April 16, 2007 -- Ceridian LifeWorks today announced a new solution to help employers reduce employee absenteeism by enabling them to better track what causes their employees to miss work.

This new reporting feature expands Ceridian's existing http://www.ceridian.com/myceridian/nav/1,2482,14074,00.html?pr=442 [Leave Administration, offering a full-service outsourcing solution to manage and track all types of absences including Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) of 1993, state leave laws, and employer authorized policies (such as vacation/paid time off and policies related to leaves such as military, jury duty, bereavement, personal leave of absence, medical leave, sabbaticals and others).

Last year's US productivity increase was only 1.6 percent, the lowest since 1997. If we don't keep up robust gains in productivity, we will lose in the global business race
The new reporting feature allows employers to generate customized reports using statistical analysis to identify absence trends and patterns that are out of the norm. It also provides employers with a powerful, interactive absence management tool enabling them to not only administer and track absences in a consolidated and consistent manner, but also to use the data to easily identify "red flags" that are contributing to their organization's absenteeism.

Program helps employers get to the root causes of absenteeism

"In many cases, employers may not know the root cause of why their employees are missing a lot of work or what patterns of absence exist in their organization. If an employer has this insight, they know more about what steps they can take http://www.ceridian.com/myceridian/nav/1,2482,14074,00.html?pr=442 [to cut down on their absenteeism, and also what steps they can take to help their employees to stay productive. "In the end, both the employer and employee win," said Ceridian senior vice president of LifeWorks Zachary Meyer.

Armed with leave data, employers can see what is contributing to their employee absentee rates and understand patterns of absence, both from a broad employee base and individual employee vantage point. In turn, employers can then determine if an employee can benefit from other company benefit programs that may assist the individual in missing fewer work days such as directing them to their company's Employee Assistance Program (EAP), assigning them a health coach or a number of other employee resources. Employers can also better identify individuals whose absence patterns require further investigation to determine if an employee is abusing their company's leave policies.

"Last year's US productivity increase was only 1.6 percent, the lowest since 1997. If we don't keep up robust gains in productivity, we will lose in the global business race," added Ceridian's Meyer. "Companies are potentially losing millions of dollars in payroll expenses and employee productivity because they do not track and manage employees' time away from work. This is a critical tool to help curb that trend."
