Compassionate Friends Worldwide Candle Lighting December 14 Unites Families Mourning Children
In the United States, well over 500 formal services will be held during The Compassionate Friends 12th annual Worldwide Candle Lighting December 14. The global event is in memory of all children who have died at any age from any cause. Now believed to be the world's largest mass candle Lighting this year's observance will be held for one hour at 7 p.m. local time December 14 around the world creating a 24-hour wave of light. Formal services will be held in every state, Washington DC and Puerto Rico. Dozens of countries outside the United States are expected to host observances. Besides The Compassionate Friends, The Worldwide Candle Lighting will have participation from chapters of many national bereavement organizations including Twinless Twins, MADD, MISS, SHARE, Parents of Murdered Children, and BPUSA. 2008-11-25 |
