STUDY IDENTIFIES BARRIERS TO BREAST CANCER CARE AMONG HISPANIC WOMEN Although the rate of breast cancer among Hispanic women in the United States is lower than among Caucasians or African Americans, breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in this patient population. SURGEONS TARGET BROTHERS OF MEN WITH PROSTATE CANCER FOR PATIENT EDUCATION EFFORTS Brothers of men who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer have a high risk of one day developing the disease. According to Raj Pruthi, MD, assistant professor of surgery and head of urologic oncology and surgery at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, there is a threefold risk of developing prostate cancer for men who have one primary relative with the disease.
