The Green Street Music Series celebrates its one-year anniversary on Saturday, February 28, 2004 with an American themed show at the Lucky Dog Music Hall in Worcester, Massachusetts. Featuring the music of Tom Petty and Bruce Springsteen

The popular Green Street Music Series celebrates its one year anniversary with the fifth show in the series: "The Wild, The Innocent, and the Green Street Shuffle", a local celebration of the music of Tom Petty and Bruce Springsteen. Starring the G Street Band and over 35 guest singers from many of Central Massachusetts biggest bands.

(PRWEB) January 27 2004--Over the past year the Green Street Music Series has paid tribute to The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, The Clash, The Police, and The Who, and on Saturday, February 28 the Series comes home with an American themed show featuring the music of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, and Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. The show will feature nearly 50 songs in a five-hour, marathon show starring the 11-member G Street Band, a super house band featuring some of Worcesters more prominent musicians. The hit-heavy show will span the career of both artists and will serve as backdrop for showcase of local talent as singers from 35 local bands take the stage to handle the vocal duties.

The Green Street Music Series, which consists of a different show every three or four months, is a twofold celebration. It celebrates the career and music of an important artist, or artists, and at the same time celebrates and recognizes the high quality and vitality of the local Worcester music scene. The first show in the series, "Exile On Green Street", was a local tribute to the surprise concert that the Rolling Stones played at Sir Morgans Cove (now the Lucky Dog Music Hall) in September of 1981 as a warm-up show for their Still Life World Tour in support of the hit album Tattoo You. The success of "Exile On Green Street" was the catalyst for the shows that have followed.

"The Wild, The Innocent, and the Green Street Shuffle" also falls on the 16th anniversary of Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Bands Tunnel Of Love World Tour which kicked off with three shows at the Centrum in Worcester in 1988.
