Superhero Alert --Theres a New Superhero on the Scene: THE ATOMIC KID George Parker's new book The Atomic Kid-Adventures in the Antiworld is the story of an accidental superhero who saves the world from oblivion. The book is supported by a six song CD single featuring the song "Superhero," a pop anthem in which the hero in us all wishes for super powers. BURBANK, CA (PRWEB) January 28, 2004 -- Though John Smith is only thirteen and an ordinary, angst-ridden teenager, he is inadvertently transformed into the reluctantly heroic Atomic Kid through the scientific machinations of two devious, wicked brothers. His exciting and humorous adventure story, targeted for the teenager in us all, explodes from the pages of George Parkers new book, appropriately titled The Atomic Kid. Inspired by the characters and situations, theres an accompanying six song CD titled , "Superhero," produced by Ted Scarlett, to go along with the book.
Looking for the secret to eternal life and riches, the two brothers, a megalomaniac and a demented scientist, mistakenly blow John Smith into a metaphysical world of anti-matter, where a disembodied voice, who calls himself the Master of the Perfect Word, challenges the youngster to save the world from destruction by the two brothers. The saving takes some doing as John and three zany high school friends get caught up with an ex-secret agent, a Dragon Lady and a chase through parallel universes.
In this coming-of-age story, John Smith discovers the power of his supernatural abilities when he turns himself into a vengeful bowling ball in a bowling match with cloned Nerds in the bizarre World of Science. Besides their brainpower, Nerds have a secret weapon-deadly underarm odor.
George Parker, designer and director created the award winning "Yellow Submarine Sandwich" animation featured in Eric Idle's spoof of The Beatles titled "All You Need is Cash," about a band called The Rutles. He has composed a six-song CD in conjunction with the books release. "Superhero," a pop anthem sung by Martin Klingman, is the theme song on the CD and expresses the feelings of the books reluctant high school hero.
