Founded in San Jose, California by two sisters, Karen Suedy" Sasaki, and Janice Murai, the idea for Koo-Ki Sushi stemmed from an announcement in a magazine for a national cookie contest. An illustrator by trade, Karens original concept came from memories of making sushi with her grandmother. She joined with her sister, Janice, a schoolteacher, to concoct their first chocolate and cookie sushi. After realizing they had created something unique in the confectionary world, the sisters decided not to enter the contest after all. Instead, they founded Suedy's Koo-Ki Sushi and spent years developing and perfecting their products.

Each piece is meticulously made by hand with the highest quality ingredients, including Belgian chocolate.
