Ground Breaking Research using High Purity Germanium Detectors from Princeton Gamma-Tech Instruments

A leading research laboratory, on behalf of the US DOE, selects Princeton Gamma Tech Instruments (www.pgt.com), a wholly owned subsidiary of Princeton Security Technology (PSGY.OB) for the purchase of high purity germanium (HPGe) crystals for use in groundbreaking physics research involving double beta decay studies.

Princeton, NJ (PRWEB) June 18, 2008 -- Princeton Security Technology Inc's (PSGY.OB) wholly owned subsidiary, Princeton Gamma-Tech Instruments has entered into a contract with a leading US research laboratory, for the purchase of high purity germanium (HPGe) crystals for use in groundbreaking physics research involving double beta decay studies. The PGTI detectors were selected by researchers for their high degree of performance and geometric uniformity as well as superior low background characteristics.

PGT Instruments has been directly involved in producing ultra low-background germanium detector systems since the beginning of these sorts of studies and boasts of installations in underground facilities in Spain, France, central Asia, Ontario, New Mexico and South Dakota.

Testing of the PGTI system, including multiple detection crystals, will be conducted on behalf of the US Government. The purchase price of the system is not being disclosed at this time, but this phase is to be delivered by the end of September, 2008 and represents the second large-scale delivery for the US Government from PGT for this project.

Princeton Gamma Tech Instruments has brought leadership and technical innovation to the semiconductor gamma and X-ray detection field for over 35 years. Recent accomplishments include a state-of-the-art isotope identification technology for fixed and portable applications and a scaleable software control application for the rapid deployment of multiple sensors. The corporation offers an online catalog of off the shelf products and services, as well as a distributor network domestically and internationally. Visit www.pgt.com for details.
