Hearing Kate Voegele perform, you might wonder what parents are feeding their kids these days. Not only does the 17-year-old Voegele have a great voice, she has the songwriting ability of someone twice her age. In her debut release, The Other Side, Voegele combines thoughtful lyrics with unforgettable hooks to create a masterful and melodic acoustic rock project. Fans of this genre can easily formulate a comparison to Michelle Branch, Vanessa Carlton, or even a young Patty Griffin.
Following the release of The Other Side this past summer, Voegele and her band performed at amphitheaters and clubs in Cleveland and Pittsburgh. Second stage appearances have included shows with John Mayer, Patty Griffin and Aimee Mann. Every show afforded Kate and her band the opportunity to impress the musical community, and as a result word is starting to spread regionally and nationally that there is something special here.
