Is There a Book Inside You? Want to be a Published Author? Charles Patterson, Ph.D., is an experienced New York editor and author who helps people write their books and get them published. No matter how much or how little you have done, he will help you move forward toward your goal. (PRWEB) February 17, 2004--Dr. Charles Patterson--the prize-winning author of ten books--is ready to help anybody who wants to write a book (he also works with people working on shorter pieces).
At whatever stage you are at with your book or book idea--complete manuscript ready for editing, partial manuscript, a few pages, an outline, or perhaps only just an idea of what you want to do, Patterson will work with you to move your project forward. He wont write your book for you, but he will get you moving in the right direction.
When it comes time to approach agents and/or publishers, he will also be available to help you write your book proposal (for non-fiction) or fiction outline, and, of course, the all-important query letter you need to send to agents and publishers that will get the ball rolling. If you should decide you want to publish your book yourself, he can advise you about how to proceed.
For 25 years Patterson has lived in New York City where he has been deeply involved with books in one way or another--reading, writing, editing, and teaching literature and writing. He has been a member of The Authors Guild, PEN, and the National Writers Union since the 1980s.
His most recent book is the controversial, highly acclaimed Eternal Treblinka: Our Treatment of Animals and the Holocaust, published by Lantern Books, New York in 2002 and now translated into four European languages (German, Italian, Polish, and Czech). Publishers in Spain, France, The Netherlands, Norway, and Israel are also reviewing the book for possible publication.
Patterson says that after having spent a quarter of a century trying to get published (and in some cases succeeding!), he now finds he takes great pleasure encouraging and helping others get "the book inside them" out and published. (He teaches a course in New York City for wannabe authors called "The Book Inside You.")
Basic services he offers include helping people get started, editing, book doctoring, and helping people write book proposals, fiction outlines, and query letters. He also advises writers about which agents and publishers to approach, the importance of marketing and promotion plans, the pros and cons of self-publishing, and how to sell foreign rights.
He has had extensive experience working with writers of non-fiction, fiction, and memoirs (as well as short stories, essays, articles, and dissertations and theses). His goal is to help them make their work be as polished and professional as it can be before it is submitted to agents and publishers.
