Young Onset Parkinsons Association appoints new Executive Director

Ohio native Doug Scott is appointed Executive Director of the Young Onset Parkinson's Association.

ALBUQUERQUE, NM (PRWEB) February 21, 2004

The Young Onset Parkinson’s Association (YOPA) announces the appointment of Doug Scott as Executive Director. Scott joined YOPA when it was founded in 2002 and previously served as one of their state representatives.

His focus in the early months will be on expanding the membership, increased support and programs for YOPA members, and in securing the organization’s financial and operational base.

Scott is an Ohio native with a range of management experience. He was also diagnosed with Young-Onset Parkinson’s at age 30 in the fall of 2000. He will base his operation out of the Columbus, Ohio area and can be reached at dscott@YOPA.org, phone: 740-973-9517.

The board of YOPA is happy to have Mr. Scott on board.

The Young Onset Parkinson's Association (YOPA) is a not-for-profit 501(c) 3 corporation that represents Parkinson's patients under 50 nation-wide. The mission of YOPA is to raise public awareness and to offer support to those living with young-onset Parkinson's disease. Upwards of 1.5 million Americans have the degenerative disease, with 5-10% estimated to be young-onset.
