Original songwriters will gather for several days of live music performances, Writers Retreat, Workshops, Music Trade Show, Exhibits, Panel Discussions, Networking, Camping, Food and Fun. ÂWe have designed the festival to highlight the unsung heroes of the music industry, says festival manager ÂPopcornÂ. ÂThis is a celebration of the songwriters that made Music City possible and a tribute to their craft. Writers from all over America, Canada and elsewhere will gather to share their talents. The Nashville SongWriters Festival is open to all forms of songwriting. Event activities include three days of songwriter performances and a three day ÂWriters Retreat for those wanting to Âhone their skills prior to the Big Weekend Festival. Everyone is encouraged to camp at the KOA Kampground on 2626 Music Valley Drive. Songwriters, Music Publishers, the Recording Industry and other trade related professionals will be in attendance to get back to the basic roots of networking and exposure. The public is also invited to meet some of the hit songwriters of yesterday, today and tomorrow. Last years festival was held at Loretta LynnÂs Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee. Moving the event this year closer to the heart of Music CityÂs Music Row makes it more convenient for the local music industry and public to interact. A Nashville SongWriters Festival 2004 Launch party will be held March 15, 7PM at Hobo JoeÂs 918 Main St. in Nashville (615) 262-0096 to kick off Festival 2004 preparations.
