Wild Anacondas Set Loose at Brooklyn Museum

Pianist Richard Bennett Brings Groove to the Galleries

(PRWEB) February 26, 2004--Dynamic pianist Richard Bennett presents his current band The Wild Anacondas as part of the Brooklyn Museums First Saturday in a night of original music.

The Wild Anacondas, featuring two percussionists, deliver a spicy gumbo of New Orleans parade music, jazz, and West African soukous. Intoxicating to all audiences, their dance-based modern music is influence by ancient traditions which leave all enchanted and enthralled. The Wild Anacondas have performed their scintillating sets at BAMcafe, Lincoln Center Out-of-Doors, and the Guggenheim Museum.

Richard Bennett and The Wild Anacondas are:

-Richard Bennett: Piano and Melodica.

-Maguette Camara: a Senegalese drummer, dancer, and choreographer. He teaches at the Ailey School and Barnard College and his groups have presented at Lincoln Center and Central Park.

-Paula Jeanine: a versatile, exuberant and sought-after percussionist. She has toured internationally in Egypt, France, and Morocco, where she performed for the king and played with El Rhaouni Abdelali as well as the Tombouctou Gnawa Brotherhood. She has been played with many prominent New York bands, including the Alessandra Belloni Ensemble, Blue Note's Medeski, Martin & Wood, and Didjworks.

-Gaku Takanashi: anchored by the Tokyo native on acoustic bass, The Wild Anacondas promise a night of fun, creative, and funky music.
