Flashs improved handling of database content delivery, and its new ability to store data on a users computer, allowed FastSpot to deliver a CD-ROM whose content will never become dated.

FastSpot designed and programmed the map using Macromedia Flash MX Pro, PHP and MySQL. Flashs improved handling of database content delivery, and its new ability to store data on a users computer, allowed FastSpot to deliver a CD-ROM whose content will never become dated.

FastSpot worked with Arinc to develop the interactive map so that Arincs international sales force could use it in presentations to potential clients. As Arincs locations and services expand and change, they are able to launch a console from the master CD-ROM, or log into a secure web-based administration area, and update the information being displayed on the map. As changes are made to the information, Arinc sales representatives simply click on an Update" button and all current information is downloaded and integrated into the maps display. This downloaded information is also stored on the users local machine, so that the most recent data is also available for offline viewing. The technology used to power the map will then continue to always provide the latest information for the CD-ROM, whether it be connected to a remote data provider or serving from a local copy that has been recently updated.
