Most women of the 19th century were expected to be able to make their own clothes. Although some full-size patterns were available, most women learned to draft their own patterns from scaled pictures in women's and fashion magazines. During this program, participants will create a bodice or blouse pattern using the Voice of Fashion magazine's scaled drafting system.

Authentic Edwardian garments will be on view to show period details. The Morris County Historical Society maintains a large collection of men's, women's and children's clothing and accessories dating from the 1840s to the 1970s. Items from the collection are frequently displayed throughout Acorn Hall.
