This is the third consecutive year that an Academy of Art University graphic design student has received this prestigious award, and the fifth time in the past nine years.

Each year a jury of design professionals conducts a rigorous selection process. The 2008 jury included Josh Chen of Chen Design, Jennifer Sonderby, SF MOMA, and Ravinder Basra, Education Chair, AIGA San Francisco.

"I am thrilled for Sumila. She is a wonderfully talented designer and this scholarship is a testament to her abilities," said Mary Scott, Chair, School of Graphic Design, Academy of Art University.
