Lambco performs to help a local college

The Los Angeles Modern and Ballet Company joins other members of the dance community to raise money for the Theater Arts Department for Southwest College.

(PRWEB) March 6, 2004--Los Angeles newest premier dance company has agreed to join a benefit concert to aid the Theater Arts Department of Southwest College. The Los Angeles Modern and Ballet Company will perform both evenings of Dance Groove 2004," March 19 & March 20 at 8:00pm. The company will premier 2 new works by Artistic Director, Omhmar Griffin.

Dance Groove 2004" is the brainchild of Jeffery Williams Jr., President of Jayah Productions. Many may remember Jeffery as the winner of the Los Angeles Music Center Spotlight Competition in 2001. Dance Groove 2004" will unite many LA based dance forces on one stage as part of a two evening celebration of dance. Performances will highlight the best of Classical Ballet, Modern, Jazz and tap.

More spotlight winners will join Mr. Williams Jr. on the program including Josette Wiggans (42nd Street), Joseph Wiggans and Melinda Sullivan. Other participating performers will be Universal Dance Designs Kennedy Tap Company, The Dance Connection, Dance Magic Studio, Hamilton High School Dance Department, Enlightenment Dance Den and Eliezer Rabello of the Lula Washington Dance Theater.

Dance Groove 2004" is a perfect opportunity to get your first peek at the fresh, new & young Lambco. Lambcos Inaugural season starts October 7-10, 2004 at the El Portal Theater in North Hollywood. A portion of the proceeds from Dance Groove 2004" will also benefit the Disabled & Child Abuse Center of Los Angeles. General Admission for the event is $10.00. Students, Children under 12, and Seniors are $8.00.
