Concerts of this stature generally happen in major cities. So why Northampton? Not only is Northampton the home of Sebadoh and Dinosaur Jr. (J Mascis), but also the new home of Kim Gordon and Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth - as well as the four up-and-coming acts that are joining them on this day: Claudia Malibu, Lofine, Steve Westfield and the Lonesome Brothers and The Chemical Wedding. Northampton has always had a lively arts community - this event will be maintaining the momentum.

The Community Resources for People with Autism is a not for profit agency (a division of The Association for Community Living), working with families who have children with autism. We are dedicated to providing families with support and assistance to ensure that their children can remain at home with their families as well being part of their communities. Because of state budget cuts, it is becoming more difficult to serve the increasing numbers of children who are diagnosed with autism. Since 1989 Community Resources has grown from serving 50 families to more than 500 families today and that number is only growing.

If you didnt know already, April is Autism Awareness Month. Not only will this benefit help to raise money desperately needed to serve our families due to state budget cuts, but also help to make people more aware of the children and families in our community who are dealing with autism on a daily basis.

The bands, dedicated volunteers and organisers are all donating their time and 100% of the proceeds from this event to Community Resources for People with Autism.

Tickets are available in advance for $18.00 from www.insound.com or from Night Owl Records - 72 Cottage Street, Easthampton, MA. (413) 527-0400, Turn it Up! - 5 Pleasant Street, Northampton, MA. (413) 582-1885. All seats are general admission.
