Del Mar Racing on TVG!

TVG to feature extensive live coverage and special programming throughout 69th Del Mar Racing Season

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) July 15, 2008 -- TVG, America's Horseracing Network, saddles up this July to bring horseplayers special programming and wagers for Del Mar Thoroughbred Club's summer meet.

Starting Wednesday, July 16th, TVG will broadcast live from Del Mar's opening day and continue coverage throughout the week. Each following weekend, TVG brings the meet into your living room with Trackside Live, TVG's fast-paced flagship program, until the season's conclusion on Wednesday, September 3.

In addition to all the best horseracing action from Del Mar, TVG subscribers receive the industry-leading features of TVG.com, including Live Video Streaming from the nation's premier horse tracks, horserace replays, odds and results, handicapping information, and TVG expert picks and betting tickets.

These wagering tools will come in handy as this year's meet at Del Mar boasts the richest stakes schedule in its history. With 31 events summing $7.35 million, bolstered by the $1 million Pacific Classic, the gates will be loaded with many of the finest thoroughbreds in the world.

Some of racing's best jockeys will be in the mount as well. Del Mar's opening day marks the return of national champion jockey Garrett Gomez to the Southern California circuit. Based in New York since 2006, Gomez is the 2007 Eclipse Award rider and top money winner for the past two years. With four Breeder's Cup "Win and You're In" races in August, he's certain to face plenty of stiff competition at Del Mar this summer.

Del Mar's opening day kicks off with the $100,000 Oceanside Stakes on July 16, followed by a weekend lineup that includes the $300,000 San Diego Handicap (Gr. II) on July 19 and the Eddie Read Handicap (Gr. I) on July 20.
