The Hightower Report Featured in Business Week

David Hightower of The Hightower Report are gaining notoriety and were recently featured in Business Week magazine.

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) July 17, 2008 -- David Hightower, the principal and editor of The Hightower Report was recently featured in Business Week. The publication provides research and analysis on commodity and financial futures markets.

The article titled "David Hightower on the Explosion in Commodities Markets" explains how he has dealt in commodities for more than 25 years in the industry. When Business Week writer Christopher Farrel asked if the agricultural commodity boom is becoming a bubble, Hightower answered, "The markets always run ahead of themselves, both on the upside and the downside. Do I think we are ahead of ourselves now? Yes. But we haven't seen prices go up enough to pay for the further development of high-powered seed technology, biofuel energy, and the like."

Hightower also gave his insight on the forecast of agricultural prices. Although prices are increasing and staying high, they're in great demand. If there was a shortage or surplus in food, it would be corrected in three to five years, but lately price increases are driven by physical demand.

Hightower also predicted that the price of protein will be the next price shock. Hog producers have had to reduce the size of their herds and he believes that pork and beef will be the next big topic.
