Houston, Texas (PRWEB) June 16, 2008 - Syntex Management Systems, Inc. is pleased to recognize ExxonMobil for achieving the NPRA Distinguished Safety Award (DSA) for an unprecedented sixth consecutive year. This is the highest safety attainment award given by the National Petrochemical & Refiners Association (NPRA). "Since the NPRA safety awards program began in 1982, no other company has earned the coveted DSA six consecutive years," according to NPRA's recent press release.

As one of the largest and most influential associations for the petrochemicals and refiners industry, the NPRA recognized ExxonMobil Chemical Company's Baton Rouge Polyolefins Plant for attaining a superior level of safety performance in their organization. The Distinguished Safety Award is part of a comprehensive safety awards program developed by NPRA's Safety & Health Committee. The committee promotes accident prevention in the petroleum refining and petrochemical manufacturing industries and publicly recognizes the industry's excellent record of safety in operations. For the sixth straight year, ExxonMobil delivers exceptional leadership and operational excellence to its employees, contractors and plant facilities.

Recipients of the Distinguished Safety Award must pass a comprehensive review of individual safety performance programs. To be considered for the award, a location must achieve both an employee and contractor total recordable incidence rate of 0.6 or less and have had no employee cases involving days away from work for the applicable evaluation period.

"This award reflects ExxonMobil's continued commitment to excellent safety performance," said Trent Derr, President & CEO Syntex Management Systems, Inc. "As proud members of the NPRA, we look forward to the continued success of our customers and are committed to providing world-class enterprise risk management solutions to the industry."
