Tempest Productions releases details on a new historical documentary

Tempest Productions announces details on "Donut Girls," about WWII Red Cross Reational Workers.

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) March 25, 2004 ---- Dallas-based Tempest Productions announced their next historical project, The Donut Girls," a feature-length documentary .

The Donut Girls" focuses on the recently declassified tales of the Red Cross Recreational Workers, girls from mostly well-to-do families who left the security of American shores to share some of the comforts of home in war-torn Europe during WWII. These courageous young women traveled all over England, France and other countries in their clubmobiles" delivering fresh donuts and other treats to Allied soldiers at war.

Working with the national Red Cross as well as a local non-profit business as a physical agent, Tempest will document the newly-optioned true stories of the Donut Girls" or Donut Dollies," as the were popularly called, from washing their uniforms in gasoline to rushing wounded soldiers off the battlefield to nearby M*A*S*H units. Producer/Director Angela Alexander will interview real-life Donut Girls from across the country as well as the GI's who enjoyed the coffee and donuts and "dreams of a pretty face."

As a result of the Donut" pre-production process, the production company was extended an invitation to travel to France to follow one of Donut Girls, North Texan Janet Blair, as she is honored by the French government during the celebration of the 60th anniversary of D-Day -- the invasion of Normandy Beach.

Along with the documentary, Tempest Productions is working with local educators to develop a curriculum for use in junior high and high school classrooms as well as significant online content for both educational and entertainment purposes.
