CHATSBY FILMS exits Manhattan to set up shop in Peekskills historic Arts District as Westchesters only full service media production company. As well as continuing to service existing New York City clients Chatsby Films will be offering its full service shop for businesses in Westchester and the surrounding areas. At last Westchester has a full service media production company! Chatsby Films offers all-inclusive media production from static graphical design elements and corporate IDs to streaming media and web components to full- scale commercial and in-house" video and film production. The company is embracing the move towards HD TV with new 24p cameras. (PRWEB) March 30, 2004--Chatsby Films is a new and ambitious full service independent production company, led by Directors Guild member Adam Matalon, and Emmy Nominated Cinematographer Kevin Burke. Combined they have over thirty-five years of professional production experience in live Theatre, Television, Film and other recorded media.
Chatsby Films and ChatsbyMedia specialize in development and production of both corporate/industrial and creative media. Collaborators include Mike Zandlo (editor-cameraman-compression specialist), Mike Pantuso (award winning graphic artist-animation genius), Jennifer Read (Producer-Fashion /Photographic and Corporate Specialist) Vivian Taub (Production Co-ordinator) and Sarah Matalon-Levy, who is currently undertaking the early stages of a new development arm in Paris.
Members of the Chatsby Films team have worked on numerous television projects for Sesame Street, CNN, HBO, Fox News, Comedy Central, Disney, Oxygen Network, ABC, NBC, Hallmark Channel, Animal Planet, WGBH, The Book Of Pooh, Inside Stuff, Real Sports, MSNBC, Sessions, Live By Request, Martha Stewart Living and Metro Channel, Nickelodeon.
Partner Adam Matalon said, The move to Peekskill seemed like a natural progression for us, as I live a few minutes away in Garrison. The time expended to sit in an office in the city seemed like a waste. We have also seen the steady and sure renaissance of Peekskill and felt very strongly that we wanted to be a part of that." Emmy-nominated cinematographer and partner Kevin Burke added, When we saw Brown Street Studios, we knew it was the right place for us. Creativity seemed to ooze out of the building, and we are right next to both the Paramount Center for the Arts and some really talented fine artists. Both Adam and I have a background in still photography, so art is very important to us."
Mike Zandlo, who is an interactive media and compression specialist with the company is stoked" about the move. I think that many businesses are embracing the concept that you no longer need to be in Manhattan to have an effective presence. The Internet and streaming technology has been a large part of that. We can now screen test spots for clients in their own client lounges on our website, upload graphics for approval in the blink of an eye, and interact directly with client servers."
When I asked the guys and gals at Chatsby what they thought were the biggest issues with local level advertising and marketing, they replied almost in chorus, Dont waste money on a spot or design that you are not going to be proud of a year from now!" I asked what that really meant. Well in the local market," said Matalon, I think that businesses have to commit to growth or they will stagnate. If you are going to grow, you have to market. But trying to save every penny of your marketing budget in favor of poor quality is false economy. People are going to say, 'I saw your commercial but theyll think, 'It was just like every other local spot. We have been involved with several high quality local spots which have been produced on modest budgets, but with very specific and creative briefs." Burke then chimed in, Many people just dont understand their options. In the local market in Westchester, Cablevision is where you would go to air a commercial piece, but you dont necessarily have to go to them to 'produce the commercial. We are also shooting as much as we can in wide screen and 24p, which resembles film very closely, so there is an inherent increase in quality over standard digital video, without a huge increase in cost."
Chatsby Films Creative: Chatsby Films currently has That Pet Show! in development with a major cable network. The Forest For The Trees, a short feature --screenplay by Burke, directed by Matalon-- is slated to complete shooting in April of 2004. They are presently producing short films for the film department at Sesame Street. Jane Tuesday Private Kid, an exciting new live action character will make her debut during the 35th Anniversary Season of this multi Emmy Award winning show. Our recent co-production with Coleman Productions Making Relationships Matter" is currently on sale and we are developing several upcoming projects in-house, including a Reality Show, a Music/Dating Show, and Pilates For Real People", a new video with Jacqueline Crawford. We are also currently discussing another health and fitness video series with local Peekskill businesswoman Paula Carnabuci of Sky Studios. Concurrently, we own the rights to three feature scripts and are in discussion for two others. Seasons in the Valley (formerly known as A Final Season), a feature documentary about the apple farmers of the Hudson Valley - already in production since March 2002, has international distribution, has completed its photography and is entering post-production. It is scheduled for completion in September 2004 prior to its broadcast premiere in December.
