Blacktie-Cleveland Hosts American Board Charity Golf Tournament at Firestone

The American Board Foundation, the charitable arm of Blacktie, is bringing together board members representing stellar nonprofits in each of the Blacktie host cities for a Labor Day weekend series of events in Cleveland and Akron. Blacktie, founded in 2000 in Denver, is a web-based service that supports nonprofits and their board members and volunteers with their various special events and donations. In this inaugural event for The American Board Foundation, members will play a qualifier at Firestone Country Club in Akron and sample a variety of events that make this special weekend an event for those living and vacationing in Northeast Ohio.

Cleveland, OH (PRWEB) July 30, 2008 -- The American Board Foundation is hosting a national charity golf tournament at Firestone Country Club on September 2, 2008. Representatives from nonprofit boards in major cities will compete to qualify in the 2009 American Board Championship. This Labor Day series of events includes the Cleveland National Air Show, the Blossom Music Festival, and an evening with the Cleveland Indians. Registration and details for the golf tournament and all of the support activities can be found at www.americanboardgolf.com.

The American Board Foundation, the charitable arm of Blacktie, LLC, was formed to recognize the outstanding contributions of the dedicated board members and volunteers who give back to their communities through donations of their expertise, time, and financial support. It is a direct result of the services that Blacktie provides in ten cities and regions across the country to nonprofits and their board members.

Blacktie-Cleveland is hosting this inaugural event. "Our registrants are excited to play on a course that has challenged the best of golf from around the globe. The Bridgestone World Golf Championship will have again showcased the course just a few weeks prior to this event. For amateur golfers, this may be one of their few times to play this course.," says Brenda Greathouse, President of Blacktie-Cleveland.
