NuSil Technology Delivers Soft HCR to Healthcare and Medical Device Industries

NuSil Technology, a cutting-edge manufacturer of silicone compounds for the healthcare, drug delivery and pharmaceutical industries, has unveiled MED-4714, a soft, high-consistency rubber (HCR).

Carpinteria, CA (PRWEB) August 19, 2008 -- NuSil Technology, a cutting-edge manufacturer of silicone compounds for the healthcare, drug delivery and pharmaceutical industries, has unveiled MED-4714, a soft, high-consistency rubber (HCR).

With the lowest durometer in NuSil's extensive line of HCRs, the MED-4714 final product is a soft, pliable silicone elastomer with a nominal 14 Type A durometer. It is designed for extrusion, transfer or compression molding, as well as calendering processes. In addition, the product cures with heat without the release of volatile byproducts or peroxide residues and does not require a post cure, which is often needed for other silicone HCRs.

"MED-4714 is designed to easily process like a typical HCR but cures into a soft, molded component," said Brian Nash, vice president of Marketing and Sales. "We want to show our customers that we are committed to designing products that meet the desired needs of an individual medical device system with practical ingenuity."
