Dow Corning to present new water-based silicone-modified organic coating technology at UMIST Graham Budden of Dow Corning Corporation will present a paper on Silicone Modified Organic Coating Technology at the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST) International Conference on Technical Textiles in Manchester, England, April 26-27, 2004. Midland, MI (PRWEB) April 18, 2004--Graham Budden of Dow Corning Corporation will present a paper on Silicone Modified Organic Coating Technology at the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST) International Conference on Technical Textiles in Manchester, England, April 26-27, 2004.
The new technology is a novel material that provides synergistic performance characteristics of both silicone and organic components in a textile coating material. The key attributes of the material are high barrier resistance to gasses, as well as being flexible and resilient while retaining its properties over a wide temperature range and for extended periods of time with humidity aging. The material is provided as an environmentally friendly, one-part, water-based emulsion delivery system. The technological capabilities and future modifications to meet new performance needs will be discussed.
The UMIST Technical Textiles Conference will be held at the William Lee Innovation Centre at the UMIST campus. The purpose of the conference is to bring together experts in the field of technical textiles from around the world to advance the understanding, development and application of these new materials.
