VitaminTNT.com exposes the great wellness deception

Studies show consumers should only purchase tested nutritional supplements with verified ingredients and guaranteed potencies. Research published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, and Self magazine exposed unethical nutritional supplement manufacturing.

The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition (Vol. 73, No. 6, 1101-1106, June 2001, Dr. M. R. Harkey, PhD) published research analyzing 25 commercial ginseng products from a health-food store. Eleven of the 25 tested samples were labeled as containing a specific concentration of ginsenosides or eleutherosides. Five of the eleven samples contained more than the labeled concentration of ginsenosides or eleutherosides. Six of the eleven samples contained less than the specified concentrations. The concentrations found ranged from 10.8% to 327.7% of the labeled concentration.

Self magazine (Nov, 1998) also exposed corrupt manufacturing practices. Self magazine examined 11 brands of St. Johns Wort. The examination focused on hypericin content claims and labeling quality (hypericin is the active ingredient in St. Johns Wort). Eleven brands were analyzed by two independent laboratories for hypericin content. Eight of the 11 leading brands tested contained less than the ingredients quantities listed on the labels. The standardization level for most St. Johns Wort products is 0.3% hypericin; the acceptable range is from 0.27% to 0.33%. These eight brands all tested under 0.27%.

About VitaminTNT.com

Mr. S. N. Imhotep began developing VitaminTNT.com in 1997. He realized there is little information available to consumers to determine if nutritional supplements are safe and effective.

The VitaminTNT.com website and newsletter help consumers answer this question: How can I find tested, safe and effective nutritional supplements with verified ingredients, guaranteed potencies, and money-back guarantees?" The newsletter also explains why the RDA is minimum wage nutrition.

VitaminTNT.com came online in spring 2004.
