Canadian indie horror filmmakers follow-up award winning debut feature.

Vancouver indie horror pic SAVAGE ISLAND wins Best Film in Strasbourg, France. Filmmakers Lando and Mosley are going to camera in May with follow-up SITTERS NIGHT.

Vancouver (PRWEB) April 21, 2004--Producer-director Jeffery Lando and writer Kevin Mosley have a lot to be happy about these days: their first feature film multiple-award-winning SAVAGE ISLAND is being released in the US DVD market, just as it garners a 7th award, a 'Best Fiction Film award from Le Festival de Film de Strasbourg. Even more exciting is the rush of an oncoming production: shooting begins on May 10th on SITTERS NIGHT, another Mosley penned thriller.

Sitters Night is about Tom Sitter, an escaped serial killer on a rampage one night in a rural area who meets his match in a 17-year-old babysitter and an 8-year-old boy. Lando is set to direct. Cast has not yet been disclosed.

Made on a shoestring, SAVAGE ISLAND was shot with prosumer video cameras around Vancouver and the Sunshine Coast in BC and edited on an old iMac over two years as the director made his living working as a set lighting technician with IATSE 891. Though SAVAGE ISLAND was initially snubbed by the Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal film festivals, it went on to win top prizes at four US horror film festivals after which it was acquired for US and worldwide distribution. SAVAGE ISLAND continues its festival life however, having just won the top prize at Strasbourg in France it has also just played at the Bermuda International Film Festival and the Brussels International Festival of Fantastic Film.
