PhoneBites Introduces RAZZ Sound F/X Engine

Mobile entertainment application adds personalized audio content to telephone calls.

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) April 21, 2004 --- PhoneBites, a mobile entertainment company, has announced the launch of the RAZZ Sound F/X Engine, the first technology that allows consumers to interject sound bytes into a live voice channel. For example, a user may insert famous movie lines, cartoon characters voices, etc., while talking to their friends on their mobile phones. The RAZZ Engine can also be used to enhance voicemail, outgoing messages or to enrich photo messaging.

Today, the technology can be heard in the RAZZ Headset, a normal operating hands-free unit that comes preloaded with ten entertaining sounds. The RAZZ Headset is available at Sprint PCSs website and other selected retailers. Recognizing the tremendous growth in the mobile entertainment space, the company is quickly moving to migrate the RAZZ Engine into a software application for the mobile handset.

Simultaneously, PhoneBites has begun developing Studio RAZZ, a portable online content library of premium, generic and user-created proprietary sound bytes. Consumers will be able to download content and continuously refresh their sound libraries.

The film, television and music industries are looking for new mobile platforms to monetize existing content. The wireless carriers, of course, need to continually drive average revenues per user. The RAZZ is the solution," said Jeff Malkin, CEO PhoneBites.

The company is working with several Hollywood studios and cellular operators to bring the RAZZ Sound F/X Engine to the marketplace. Being the first to market, PhoneBites is well positioned to take advantage of the enormous opportunity in personalized mobile entertainment. The ring tone market in 2003, for example, achieved $3.5 billion in revenues, approximately 10% of the entire global music industry sales.

PhoneBites Inc, located in the heart of San Francisco, is a mobile entertainment company that enables both content providers to repackage existing content for new found revenues and wireless carriers the ability to increase their average revenue per user within the very attractive mobile youth segment. The companys primary focus is on providing consumers with the ability to personalize their communications, enhance their creativity and add lifestyle to their phone.
