Department of Defense Purchases ITT's PuriFile Software

The Department of Defense has purchased an enterprise license for ITT's PuriFile software to enhance their deep document security inspection and to improve the reliable human review process.

Rome, NY (PRWEB) August 13, 2008 -- ITT Corporation (NYSE: ITT) today announced that the U.S. Department of Defense has purchased its PuriFile software product to enhance their security inspection document review and release process. ITT's PuriFile software finds hidden information in files and then using an integrated assistant plug-in, helps cleanse the document. This purchase marks the first commercial enterprise license sale of PuriFile to a major government organization.

PuriFile will help to facilitate the Defense Department's release of millions of documents yearly to its information users while reducing the risks of unintended and insider-generated leaks of sensitive information. 5,000 seats of PuriFile will be deployed at five Defense Department regional service centers.

"We are pleased to see the acceptance of PuriFile on such a large scale, as this represents a significant advance in the reliable human review process," said Jack LoSecco, ITT Cyber Assurance Director. "We look forward to valuable input from the government sector as we continue our development of a product that meets the needs of not only the Department of Defense, but also the business community."

In addition to supporting a growing customer base on its own merits, PuriFile has been integrated into several assured, cross security domain information transfer and collaboration systems in use at U.S. government, military and civilian organizations.
