Boaters Use Remote Controlled Golights and HID Magnalights to Find Crab Pots

Crab pots floating on the surface are typically tied to crab traps on the sea, river or channel floor. This poses a significant and costly danger for props and rudders of boats traveling waterways where crab pots are prolific. Given that crab fisherman and their crab pots enjoy extensive legal protection, boaters and saltwater fisherman are often left with few choices other than to navigate around these obstructions. To make matters worse, abandoned and wayward crab pots continue to clutter the waterways, with their numbers growing exponentially.

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) August 14, 2008 -- Nighttime navigation of these rivers, channels and sea waters can be dramatically improved with the use of remote controlled Golight spotlights. The Golight (http://www.magnalight.com/) spotlight is mounted to the front of the boat and the operator can use a wireless or wired remote controller to position the beam quickly and easily. In this way, boaters can quickly see and avoid dangerous crab pots.

"A few hundred dollars is a small investment that can protect boaters from a much larger expense and hassle associated with damaging a propeller or rudder," said Rob Bresnahan, President of Magnalight.com. "We sell lights daily to frustrated and concerned fisherman and boaters who simply want to avoid taking damage to their boat from crab pots. We offer several products that will aid boaters in avoiding these obstacles, including a wide range of remote controlled lights with halogen bulbs and recently we just introduced our High Intensity Discharge (HID) Golight (http://www.magnalight.com/c-180-hid-golights.aspx) Remote Controlled Spotlights. While our standard Golight Strykers produce a working beam of 800 feet, we offer a HID Golight Stryker with a working beam of 1800 feet. HID Golights, like the GL-3049H and GL-3067H give fisherman and boaters more opportunities to identify buoys, crab pots, logs and markers before they get on top of them."

"We also offer a full line of high intensity discharge boat lights (http://www.magnalight.com/c-28-boat-spotlights.aspx), some measuring a full 6 inches square and producing 4500 lumens of intense, white light in both spot and flood patterns. Now that we offer these lights in white, the HID-66 is a hot item. We also developed a full line of rail mount solutions, including our BC-1 mount that are ideal for mounting Golights and HID lights right to the rails on the boats. This makes for an easy install and enables the boater to position the light right over the water for maximum beam utilization. We offer a range of intense LED emitter light bars, that are ideal for illuminating areas onboard or around the boat with soft, bright white light. These have proven useful for docking, backward illumination and onboard area lights. Finally, our explosion proof fluorescent lights (http://www.magnalight.com/c-183-explosion-proof-fluorescent-lights.aspx), originally designed for oil rigs, paint booths and petrochemical plants have become popular with shipyards and large boats, who need explosion proof surface mount lights. Since our explosion proof fluorescent lights are marine approved for waterproof requirements, they are suitable for boats and ships as well."
