Gizmolab Announces Design Intuition(r) Version 1.2

New version 1.2 of Design Intuition(r) adds the ability to view and print a materials list, a convenient and timesaving feature requested by GizmoLab customers.

BOULDER CREEK, CA (PRWEB) April 30, 2004 -- New version 1.2 adds the ability to view and print a materials list, a convenient and timesaving feature requested by GizmoLab's customers. GizmoLab today announced the 1.2 release of its Design Intuition(r) computer-aided design software for Apple Macintosh OSX. Design Intuition(r) makes it possible for the average craftsperson or independent woodworker to produce construction-quality blueprints in minutes.

"Our customers are a vocal lot," said Jonathan Sand, CEO and Chief Software Architect for GizmoLab. "They not only love Design Intuition, but they routinely come up with great suggestions for improving it. This is all about giving our customers what they need." GizmoLab's Design Intuition(r) retails for $139.97.

Designed for Simplicity and Immediacy

"Design Intuition(r) was created by a professional woodworker for professional woodworkers and craftspeople," said Michael Knowles, Vice-President of Corporate Communications at GizmoLab. "Jonathan has created a new set of tools and simplified the user interface considerably."

Fast Design Made Possible with Smart Objects

To simplify and speed up project creation, Design Intuition(tm) is equipped with a library of Smart Objects. Smart Objects consist of panels, standard lumber pieces, cabinet "carcasses," and a variety of other items used in woodworking. Users drag Smart Objects from the Smart Objects library and then size them for the project. Smart Objects take the tedium out of design.

GizmoLab adds to the Smart Objects library monthly, often based upon customer requests.

3D Inside and Out

"Draw it once, and you've drawn it in all views. Make an adjustment in one view, and it's made in all views. Isn't that what you'd expect a design program to do?" Sand said. Because Design Intuition(r) uses OpenGL software, users can view their designs in 3D to get a strong idea of what the finished product will look like.

The Bill of Materials list

Good quality shop drawings help you create quality finished work. The new bill of materials view can be printed out, so when you're at the lumber store, you know exactly what to purchase. "It's a computer, it ought to eliminate headaches and tedium," says Sand.
