Greenplum Adds Senior VP of Engineering

20-Year Software Engineering Veteran Ronaldo Amá Joins Greenplum to Oversee New Technical Developments of its Leading Database Software

Amá brings over 20 years experience managing software architecture, engineering and product development teams for leading IT organizations. Most recently, Amá served as vice president of the Information and Platform Services Product Group at Business Objects, a division of SAP. In that role, he led the engineering departments responsible for the BI platform, transversal engineering and on-demand initiatives. During his five-year tenure at Business Objects, Amá also served as vice president of Enterprise Information Management, overseeing an engineering team that delivered multiple releases of several key data integration products that helped support a new revenue stream of several million dollars.

Prior to Business Objects and Acta Technology, he also worked for Oracle, Sybase and Informix, where he assisted customers in the selection and deployment of technology to manage large-scale OLTP and Data Warehouse systems. He holds a MS in computer science from Stanford University and a BS in computer science from Unicamp in Brazil.
