Computing Technology Industry Association Spotlights CompTIA PDI+ at Recharger World Expo 2008

Certification targets technicians who service and support printing and document imaging devices

Oakbrook Terrace, Ill. (PRWEB) August 19, 2008 -- The Computing Technology Industry Association (http://www.comptia.org/) (CompTIA), the world's leading provider of vendor-neutral certifications for technology professionals, announced today it will feature its CompTIA PDI+ (http://certification.comptia.org/pdi/default.aspx) certification this week at Recharger World Expo 2008.

CompTIA will present three certification forums and exhibit in Booth #2609 at Recharger World Expo 2008, scheduled for August 20-22 at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nev.

CompTIA PDI+ certification validates a technician's ability to support printing and document imaging devices including printers, copiers, scanners, multi-functional devices, and fax machines regardless of the manufacturer. The certification exam also covers "soft skills" such as customer service, professionalism, safety, and environmental considerations.

"CompTIA PDI+ is exactly what the printing and document imaging industry has asked us for," said Michael Robie, vice president, skills development, CompTIA. "The programs we will offer at Recharger World Expo will address the components of the certification and share proven ways that CompTIA PDI+ has helped organizations lower their costs."

CompTIA PDI+ Certification for Technicians: Why Get Certified is scheduled for 4 p.m. Wednesday, August 20. This presentation will address what the certification exam covers; whether training is necessary; and how and why CompTIA PDI+ benefits the reseller and the individual technicians.

The second program - Certified Technicians: What OEMs and Resellers are Saying - will focus on original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) that recommend and mandate CompTIA PDI+ for their technicians and service channel partners. Attendees will hear case studies from companies who rely on CompTIA PDI+ certified technicians and how it is reducing costs and increasing customer satisfaction. The program is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Thursday, August 21.

The Future of Basic Training for Technicians is scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday, August 21. It will address how CompTIA PDI+ validates a technician's ability to resolve most printing and scanning programs and diagnose fundamental connectivity-related issues. Attendees will find out how CompTIA PDI+ provides a stepping stone toward training for OEM authorization on vendor-specific devices.

Recharger World Expo 2008, sponsored by Recharger Magazine, is a gathering of document imaging professionals who are interested in growing their business, learning about the latest industry trends and building their brand.
