Dow Corning to raise silicone release coating prices Dow Corning will implement a price increase on its global silicone release coating product line, effective June 1, 2004. Midland, MI (PRWEB) May 5, 2004 --- Effective June 1, 2004, Dow Corning will implement a 7 to 10 percent price increase on its global silicone release coating product line. For the past three years, productivity improvements have enabled Dow Corning to avoid increasing prices. However, due to considerable raw material cost increases and continued significant erosion in selling prices, an increase is now necessary. Escalating prices of platinum metal have driven this action, along with recent global trends in methanol, energy and silicon metal. This price increase will enable Dow Corning to continue to meet expectations for technical solutions and reliable product supply.
Dow Corning (www.dowcorning.com) provides performance-enhancing solutions to meet the diverse needs of more than 25,000 customers worldwide. Offering more than 7,000 products and services, Dow Corning is a global leader in silicon-based materials. The company is equally owned by The Dow Chemical Company and Corning Incorporated. More than half of Dow Cornings sales are outside the United States.
