Longmont LifeScience Thursday to Be Held May 13; Panel will discuss launching bioscience products in the medical device, pharmaceutical and veterinary markets The Colorado BioScience Association (CBSA) will host Longmont LifeScience Thursday on May 13 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Raintree Plaza Hotel & Conference Center in Longmont, at 1900 Ken Pratt Blvd. The event will feature a panel discussion on launching bioscience products in the medical device, pharmaceutical and veterinary market sectors. The Colorado BioScience Association (CBSA) will host Longmont LifeScience Thursday on May 13 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Raintree Plaza Hotel & Conference Center in Longmont, at 1900 Ken Pratt Blvd. The event will feature a panel discussion on launching bioscience products in the medical device, pharmaceutical and veterinary market sectors.
Panel members will include Sean Moriarty, Vice President of Business Development and Counsel for Atrix Laboratories Inc.; Fred Mitchell, Marketing Manager, Heska Corporation; Marian Robinson, Vice President of Marketing for Baxa Corporation; and Anthony Del Vicario, Marketing and Strategic Planning, Colorado BioScience Association. CBSA members may attend at no cost.
Longmont LifeScience Thursday, held bi-monthly on the second Thursday of the month, began in 2003, and is designed to provide information and networking opportunities for those interested in the life science industry, including those involved or interested in biotechnology, medical devices, ag biotech, pharmaceuticals, research institutions and life science industries. The Longmont Area Economic Council is a founding sponsor of the event and John Cody, LAEC President, serves on the CBSA Program Committee. Denise Brown, Executive Director of CBSA, has been instrumental in developing new programs for the Association and raising its profile in Colorado. Non-member admission is $30, student price is $15.
Longmont LifeScience Thursday meetings will also be held July 15th, September 9th and November 11th in 2004. A future program will focus on an industry forecast from Price-Waterhouse-Coopers (PWC). Last year's programs included Larry Gold speaking on Colorado's Tech Transfer Initiative, Frost & Sullivan addressing the future of the life science industry, and a presentation by Colorado State University's Life Science Program. The January 2004 program was on "CAPCO's" as a seed stage capital fund. The March meeting featured Eric Bergeson, Site Director for AMGEN Colorado, speaking on the anatomy of a biotech manufacturing operation and describing AMGEN's activities in Longmont and Boulder.
About the Longmont Area Economic Council The Longmont Area Economic Council exists for the sole purpose of keeping the Longmont area economy strong. This is accomplished specifically by "actively supporting the creation and preservation of quality primary jobs."
