Strad-Style Violin Prize Added To Free Online Song Contest

A Stradivarius style violin, music industry source books, one-to-one career consultations, and cash awards have all become part of the prize pool for the free online song conest sponsored by Goodnight Kiss Music and Broadjam.com.

Hollywood, CA (PRWEB) May 12, 2004 -- Prizes added to this year's free onine song competition from Goodnight Kiss Music include a full-size Stradivarius-style violin, legal and songwriting consultations, single-song record and publishing contracts, industry source guides, books, t-shirts, CDs, and cash awards. The competion runs through May 31, 2004, and songs are submitted online via a free entry site provided by Goodnight Kiss Music and Broadjam.com.

"Probably the most fun part of the competion is calling a writer or artist to tell them they have won a contest prize," smiles Janet Fisher, owner of Goodnight Kiss.

"Almost every one of them thinks I'm pulling a prank at the beginning of the call. It's wonderful to be able to validate a great work from an unknown artist via a publishing contract or record release. Even if the song is not selected for a project, the award of a prize means that the judges heard the merit of the song. Some writers laugh when I tell them, some writers cry just from the emotion of having the acknowledgement. It is an effort rewarded."

The fourteen-year-old contest has created and released various product based on the topics requested as subject matter. The past competitions have culminated in CDs about Addiction, a "Music Horror Stories" book, an original World Christmas album, and other various releases.

Fisher also produces special songwriter based CDs, like songwriter Jack Segal's classic, "When Sunny Gets Blue, Scarlet Ribbons, and Other Songs I Wrote," on her Goodnight Kiss Records label.

"Our contest is always exciting, because a great song can come from anywhere," Fisher continues, "The theme this year is military songs. Not tragedy songs, but uplifting and fun songs for our troops and allies. We know we will be able to create a stunning CD from the entries we'll receive. The products that result from these competitions always have a special brilliance."

Besides the most coveted contract prizes, other awards include various cash tokens, a Strad-style violin, legal and music career consultations, books, t-shirts, music industry guides and more. If the material is selected for use, there is no charge be included in the releases of CDs, or other special products, but rather, royalties are earned by the participants.
