Exposed: Most Pest-infested Suburbs in Sydney, Australia

The popular suburbs of Sydney, Darling Harbour, Bondi and Glebe are the most pest infested, and are in need of immediate pest control.

Darling Harbour topped the city's list for termites, cockroaches, ants, rats, birds, possums, fleas, spiders, wasps and bees pest control service requests during July, according to the free consumer website, Quotify.

Sydney suburbs including Darlinghurst, Ben Buckler in Bondi and Forest Lodge near Glebe also made the top five, with 60% of requests indicating an immediate need for pest control services.

The Quotify consumer service, launched more than 2 years ago, matches consumers and home services trades suppliers with the three most suitable suppliers according to their specific requirements. Consumers are contacted by the three suppliers and then make their selection. Quotify also supplies consumers with free buyer guides, advisory articles and supplier reputation data based on user ratings.

The company receives up to 10,000 consumer requests per month for pest control, carpet cleaning, removals, security, cleaning, kitchens, finance, bathrooms, painting, fencing, catering and conveyancing services. During summer, Quotify recorded a record number of requests for pest control service due to the warmer weather.

"Consumers rarely know what to ask trades people when requesting quotes and they simply don't have time to shop around. More often than, we find they favour reliability over the cheapest quote. What consumers really need is a qualitative feedback mechanism and that's what we provide through the Quotify service. We take the pain out of finding a supplier," explained Peter Crowe, CEO at Quotify.

Individual consumer feedback is provided to suppliers based on many events (jobs won or completed, jobs lost and why). Consumer surveys and category benchmarking reports will also be sent to all suppliers (for example, how long an average job takes in a certain category, etc.) to help suppliers improve their business.

Quotify will continue to launch its service in most industry verticals in the coming months.
