The four-hour event will feature three in-depth workshops, each with a panel of experts and a Q&A session.
Moms Making Money is designed to help mothers eschewing daycare create a career they can pursue from the home - whether it be their own business idea or a job done for someone else while still at home.
The conference will be kicked off by keynote speaker Philippa Kennealy from Oya Consulting presenting Nurturing Your Business along with Your Kids -- How to Thrive as Moms in Business". Next will be three panels designed to inspire and inform attendees. Each panel will include a Q&A session for attendees to have constructive dialogue with each of the workshops panelists.
The Panels: Meet the MOB (Mommy Owned Businesses), moderated by Lisa Druxman from Stroller Strides, is a panel of women who have successfully integrated motherhood with successful careers while retaining their stay-at-home status. Panelists include Pamela Leavy from Oh The Goddess, Dinah Willier from Bravo Baby and Wanda Peyton from Shewhowhispers.com.
The second panel, Dont have the big idea? Work in these businesses, moderated by Mary Nelson Ray from The Kids Directory, will discuss businesses women can enter that will allow for a flexible work schedule or the ability to work from home. These careers include stenography, medical billing or virtual assistant. Panelists include Adam Petersen from Bryan College of Court Reporting, Regina Soto from Bryman College and Jacky Lynch from Just Ask Jacky.
The Third panel, Talk to an Expert, moderated by Jodi Seidler From Make Over Marketing, will be a brief discussion on how to start your own business. This panel is designed to be an interactive discussion between attendees and business experts. Panelists include Susan Lentz from the Small Business Development Corp, Jerry Earl from SCORE, and Jim Jimenez from Pacific Business Law.
