Century City Film Festival Looks to Launch Career of Young Commercial Director The Century City Film Festival has launched a contest to find a new director to create a 30-second commercial spot to advertise the festival. Century City, CA (PRWEB) May 23, 2004 - The Century City Film Festival, Where the truly awesome indie film competes against the truly awful;" launches a contest to find an up-incoming commercial director to create a 30 second commercial spot to advertise the festival. The fall Festival is slated for October 27-30, 2004.
Aspiring Commercial Directors are encouraged to submit a completed project with the following in mind:
REQUIREMENTS:
• Sample commercials can be computer-generated, shot on film or digital cameras • Must be 30 seconds in length • Commercial must have a campy, B-movie, retro, or Blaxsploitation feel to it to match the theme of the festival • Filmmaker must have all rights to the project (including stock footage, music clearance, etc.) • If actors, writers or crew are used, they must be non-union • Commercial spots must include: Dates of festival, location, website URL, our phone number and our catch phrase, "Where the Truly Awesome Indie Competes Against the Truly Awful."
Deadline for Entries: August 1, 2004.
PRIZE:
• 1-2 winner(s) will be selected from their submitted project. Winners commercial will run on cable prior and during the festival • $250.00 Cash prize • Commercial will run in Century City theatres • Press Release announcing winner • Full page announcement in our Program Book • Verbal Recognition during festival at opening and closing ceremonies • Acknowledgment on official festival website with a link to Filmmakers website

The CCFF is founded by Patrice Williams, the CEO/Founder of the Minorities in Broadcasting Training Program; a non-profit 501(c)3 organization formed in 1993 to provide training opportunities to minority college graduates in television and radio news reporting, news management and film production. The fest is a fundraiser for the organization. Trainees from the program will be volunteering during the festival.
