Original oil paintings by Ohio artist Ron Anderson featured in the King Arts Complex art exhibit "African-American Artistry" in Columbus, Ohio. Art for Community Expression joins the King Arts Complex in presenting "African-American Artistry"- an exhibition of prints, sculpture, textiles, jewelry, ceramics, photographs, computer art and mixed media. (PRWEB) May 29, 2004 -- Ron Anderson is an Ohio oil painter and an art educator. His original oil paintings are included in the currrent Art for Community Expression art exhibit at the King Arts Complex, 867 Mount Vernon Avenue in Columbus, Ohio.
Ron is a commercial art instructor at the Columbus College of Art & Design. His art commmissions include an original painting commissioned for the Absolut Vodka's 3rd annual art collection and two portraits housed in the George Washington Williams Memorial room at the Ohio Statehouse. The exhibit is displayed in the Elijah Pierce Gallery and is entitled "African-American Artistry". It is curated by Ron W. Claxton, an assistant professor of art and art history at Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio.
"African-American Artistry" opens with a reception on May 27, 2004 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. and the show runs until August 14, 2004. Gallery hours are 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Among the represented artists are Omar Shaheed, Smoky Brown, Larry Winston Collins, Cassie Hassel, Kojo Kamau and Larry Spencer. The art exhibition includes prints, sculpture, textiles, jewelry, ceramics, photographs, computer art, and mixed media works.
