A survey started in January 2008 for any mother (or father) who either surrendered/lost a child to adoption, or who had their parental rights terminated by a state agency. If you have experienced either of these, please consider taking our survey. We currently have had over 650 responses to this survey.

Durham, N.C. (PRWEB) September 9, 2008 -- A survey which started in January 2008 and is for any mother (or father) who surrendered/lost a child to adoption, or who had their parental rights terminated by a state agency. If you have experienced either of these, please consider taking our survey. We currently have had over 650 responses to this survey.

The purpose of the survey is to appraise the long term effects and attitudes of mothers (and fathers) who lost children to adoption, particularly in terms of any "promises" or expectations of confidentiality. Accurate data regarding attitudes, perceptions, beliefs and practices affecting parents in these situations is vital in formulating upcoming legislation in areas of family preservation, foster care and adoption. We hope this survey will be the most comprehensive study of parents who surrendered parental rights or whose rights were terminated resulting in their children being either adopted or remaining in foster care.

This survey is limited to American adoption practices therefore you need to reside in the

U.S.
