Business Management Software Provider Appears on Inc.'s Lists of Fastest Growing Top Software Companies

MINDBODY Inc. was recently includes in Inc Magazine's lists of the Top 100 Software Companies and the 5,000 Fastest Growing Private Companies in America.

San Luis Obispo, CA (PRWEB) September 10, 2008 -- MINDBODY, Inc., a company that provides business management software to service providers in the health and wellness industry, was just heralded by Inc. Magazine as one of the "fastest growing... top software" companies in the United States.

More than 3,000 business locations across 42 countries rely on MINDBODY for bookkeeping, appointment scheduling software, staff and client management, reselling of services, point of sale, and other business management needs. The San Luis Obispo-based firm currently averages more than 150 new clients per month, which explains the company's skyrocketing 425.7 percent sales growth from 2004 to 2007. MINDBODY ranked 840th on Inc.'s list of the "5,000 Fastest Growing Private Companies in America," which placed them in the top 20th percentile of honorees. Additionally, MINDBODY ranked 59th on the "Top 100 Software Companies" list.

MINDBODY attributes its accelerated 425.7 percent growth to their unique web-based software as a service (SaaS) model. MINDBODY's business management software is delivered and accessed completely through the Internet; which means their clients do not have to install, host or store anything on hardware at their business locations. Upgrades are done monthly, require no installation and are completely free. Because the business management and appointment scheduling software exists entirely online, even large corporations use MINDBODY to manage staff, clients, supply chains, and services without needing a large IT department. This passes significant savings to clients. MINDBODY has been able to fill a void for businesses such as gyms, spas and yoga studios that have had to choose between running outdated software or no software at all to fulfill their business management needs.

Inc. recognized MINDBODY's 15,000-square-foot corporate headquarters as "a LEED-certified (green building) facility with cork flooring, recycled-content office accents, natural ventilation and water conservation. It uses a fourth of the energy per square foot as in its previous location." This holds true to MINDBODY's mission statement of "Leveraging the power of the Internet to improve the health and wellness of the world."

Inc. has listed America's 5,000 fastest-growing private companies annually since 1982. Past lists have included Microsoft Corporation, Oracle Corporation, Zappos.com, Inc., Intuit Inc., GoDaddy and QUALCOMM Incorporated. This year's list was ranked by percentage revenue growth from 2004 to 2007. To make the list, a company must be based in the U.S., privately held, for profit and independent of other companies as of December 31st, 2007. First year revenue must be more than $200,000 for 2004 and more than $2 million for the most recent year (2007).

About MINDBODY:

MINDBODY's roots go back to 1998, when it was the first software consulting firm developing easy-to-use client and teacher management solutions for yoga, Pilates and spinning studios. In 2001, the company became an LLC, took the business name MindBody Software, hired the first employees and released the first hosted data synchronization service designed for small businesses. In 2003, MindBody Software led the industry again with an online scheduling program that was the first Web-based client scheduling tool that synchronized to desktop studio management software.

In 2005, MindBody Software grew rapidly after transitioning its business management capabilities to a flexible and infinitely scalable Web-based platform; the online version proved to be much more powerful and cost effective than desktop software. By mid-2005, sales of MindBody Software's online solutions had eclipsed their desktop software. MindBody Software changed its name to MINDBODY Online, and later to MINDBODY Inc. in late 2007 to reflect its flexibility in a fast-paced market.

Whether self-employed and working from home or the manager of a large multi-location enterprise, business owners have simplified their lives, boosted revenue and been able to focus more on clients, thanks to MINDBODY. From online dance studio management solutions to health center inventory management, MINDBODY offers business management software that makes sense in the health and wellness industry.
