New Young Poet Takes a Leap into Self Publishing... ...New young poet, Ariana R. Cherry, self publishes her first new poetry book, The Real Me-Xtended." (PRWEB) June 7, 2004 -- For young poet, Ariana R. Cherry, 23, of Central Illinois, publishing a book of her own poetry has always been a dream. And even one of her biggest dreams yet is walking into a retail bookstore and finding her book sitting on its shelves--or better yet--a best seller! ....While dreaming away to becoming a published poet, Ariana spent her time doing poetry readings in her hometown church, visiting her hometown school and even visiting the nursing home once to give the residents a relaxing reading for an afternoon....She had been doing anything to just get her name "out there." What else could a poet do who had been writing since the young age of 9 years old with a total of 100+ poems written under her "writing belt?"
Ariana's poetry has showed up in several online magazines and even a local magazine in her area called "Poetic Art License" that is originated in Peoria, IL. Then she got a crazy idea to go ahead and create her first manuscript of poems. ....One of her first collections, titled "The Eyes of Reality," was published as an ebook by an online company in 2002..But she felt it didnt' receive the recognition it deserved-nor could she actually hold the book itself in her hands-She wanted something "real."
Ariana continued to write more poetry and signed up at a couple online author sites posting her poetry. She received "rave" reviews, and people really seemed to enjoy her writing. So she began to put together her second manuscript that would go into PRINT format.
Instead of going through the trouble of submitting it to many publishing companies as once, or even perhaps receiving rejections that may even put her down, she decided to take the self publishing road. ......And that road lead her to an online website called www.lulu.com
Lulu.com lets the writer/creator upload his/her own work, choose a cover or even create one themselves, and publish their books with ZERO dollar set-up fees!....Then an author may choose to purchase extended services such as ISBN service, ISBN plus services, editing and cover designing services, and much more!....
Lulu just seemed like the answer to Ariana's prayers, and from here, she has went on to create her first "real" book titled, "The Real Me-Xtended."
The Real Me Xtended is now for sale at Lulu.com for $6.00 in print edition with 50 pages.
You can purchase that book and other books by ariana by visiting the following website: www.lulu.com/booksbyariana.
Her first "baby," The Eyes of Reality," is also offered there as well.
"The Real Me Xtended" is described as: "Poems that will make your mind think or wander."... It invites you to come and sit, let your mind take control, and let your mind wander as you read along in this poetic journey."
Later this summer, her book will be available at Barnes and Nobles, Amazon.com, and hopefully any other websites that decide to carry her book as well.
As Cherry has begun her road to self publishing, self publicity, and other marketing tactics, she has also developed her own online poetry magazine called "Hometown Poetry Press." (www.hometownpoetrypress.com). She wanted to use this magazine to give other poets like herself a chance to see their poems published as well as tell everyone about Lulu.com--the wonderful publishing website for authors looking to self publish their work. She will soon be using Lulu to put her online magazine into print as well. ...Other poets can submit their poetry relating to anything about subjects such as growing up in small towns, farms, religon, and growing up in low to middle income families, all year round. Poets can submit their poetry to the email address: editor@hometownpoetrypress.com.
