VotersUnite.com launches it's presidential poll in an effort to raise voter awareness. If Americans treated the right to vote with the same caution as we treat a loaded hand gun, we would have more educated voters and better politicians. (PRWEB) June 5, 2004 -- Calling himself an eternal optimist" Edward Leon launched his website VotersUnite.com in an effort to raise voter awareness. Leon states the site is really set up to be run by the members," alluding to the ability of members to post their own news articles and run the forums eventually I would love to see the sites content be a reflection entirely of its members, rather than the subjective viewpoints of a few."
After years of being fed up with political mudslinging by the candidates and the media, Leon decided to develop VotersUnite.com. He states I guess in a perfect world each voter would know exactly where their candidate stands on the issues, and in turn each candidate would act consistently with what the majority of his constituents believe in."
He said he understands though that we do not live in a perfect world but feels that all elected officials should be held accountable for their records in office, and that constituents should have easier access to what each candidates record is, not just the highlights we get come re-election."
Just as we are responsible for the children we raise, so are we responsible for those who we elect." True to his self proclamation Leon seems optimistic about the future of politics in this country and hopes that, all voters will take their right to vote seriously, and treat it with the same caution as one would treat a loaded gun."
VotersUnite.com is a member driven free website but does accept donations. Currently, VotersUnite.com is holding a Presidential Election in an effort to urge people to get out and vote. In addition to the election, VotersUnite.com provides political, social, and election related forums and chat.
