ShipÂs Log: A Great Way To Record Good Times On Deck and Off
John Kokulis is pleased to announce the publication of his new book, SHIP's LOG, which allows boaters to record critcial boat information. In addition, the log allows for humorous entries regarding restaurants and marinas visited, wine drank aboard the boat, and fish (claimed to be caught)
(PRWEB) June 6, 2004
This SHIPÂs LOG was put together for boaters who want the most from their shipÂs record.
These boaters want the ability to log critical information such as maintenance repairs performed on their vessel, their equipment inventory, their sail inventory, etc.
At the same time, they want to log those special, humorous moments that make boating special (who was on-board, where we docked, where we ate, and of course, what we drank).
To that end, this log offers the following:
Over 50 pages for Daily Log entries.
 Maintenance Log
 Fuel Log
 Equipment Log
 Sail Inventory
 Radio/VHF Log
It also allows for entries of extremely important information:
 Wine Log
 ÂWatering-Hole Log
 Marina Log
 Fish Log
40 extra pages for notes and comments
AuthorÂs Note: I first got the idea for this book about five years ago after discovering my DadÂs ship log from the late 1960s. Check out this entry:
July 20, 1966 Â Mutiny! About 3:00 a.m., this morning, because of severe thunder and rain storms (plus 33 holes in the canvas), the crew became restless and later mutinous. Details of the mutiny are as follows (in proper sequence): 1) ÂCharlie, Charlie, wake upÂ
Â
.canÂt you hear the storm?Â; 2) ÂHow can you sleep in all thisÂ
..donÂt you care?Â; 3) ÂWhat do you mean Âwater repellant sleeping bags?Â; 4) ÂYou and your ideas of fun!Â; 5) ÂIf you think I am going to spend another night up hereÂ
..!Â; 6) ÂBecause of this, my stomach hurts. And that is the way it all began. As for the captain, despite a pool of water in the polyethylene protective drop cloth over his head, despite his wet sleeping bag, and despite the adverse elements he kept his head and chin up and arrested the mutiny and restored morale (back to an all time high degree of misery). - CJK/Captain
It was a GREAT read. What made it so special was not the recorded wind speed of the day, or the course setting and point destination, but rather his comments on the characters and relatives that used to join him for a ride, the frustrations he had getting his wife and 3 children ready and organized for a day trip, his dreams and plans for his boat, and his humorous descriptions of cocktail Âhour.Â
