In a survey of over 3000 employers by Career Builder said they have open positions for which they can't find skilled labor. Seventy eight percent of those companies said they were willing to recruit workers who don't have specific experience in their industry. This will even have an effect on the recruiting community. Recruiters have been accustomed to sourcing talent from within a given industry, for that industry; and even specific to the job function. That all changes now."

Berkeley Palmer also cited another similar survey of more than 5700 workers that showed over one-third said they were interested in trying out a new career path. "The combination of workers seeking a change, and employers now embracing the idea of going outside traditional ranks for employees will cause some interesting changes and challenges in the world of employment," according to Berkeley Palmer.
