LOS ANGELES, CA (PRWEB) June 13, 2004 -- Christie McQueen, a professional photographer, has teamed up with Sophie Pragnell, a journalist with years of experience working for the BBC, to create SlideAngle.com. SlideAngle is an online magazine created to provide women with information about inspirational athletes and their sports, to introduce unique lifestyle products to the reader, and to be a voice for women involved in action sports.
Over the past year, McQueen and Pragnell have covered top action sports events such as X Games IX, X Games Xperience, Vans Triple Crown Skate Finals, and the All Girl Skate Jam. Together, they have showcased the giants of skateboarding, such as Tony Hawk, Bob Burnquist, Bucky Lasek, Jen O'Brien, Vanessa Torres, and Cara Beth Burnside, to name a few.
McQueen says, "Our vision for SlideAngle was inspired by the desire to share these athletes' stories and accomplishments with other women, and also to bring more attention and financial support to women involved in sports."
SlideAngle will be publishing six online issues a year, a new one coming out every two months. In each issue, they will interview top female athletes, include articles encouraging health and fitness, introduce new music, showcase travel destinations, sell unique quality products, publish monthly calendars of upcoming events, and give away free products.
"We have dedicated most of our time to covering professional skateboarding over the past year, recently we expanded to professional snowboarding and surfing, and over the next year, we'd like to expand to cover succesful women in other sports. Our emphasis is on supporting women athletes and sharing their stories with other women," explains McQueen.
