Late Nite Air Guitar

Airguitar.com challenges late night hosts Leno and Letterman to strum it out in a celebrity air guitar event to answer the ten year old question, "Who still has the best air guitar chops?"

Rochester, NY (PRWEB) September 16, 2008 -- September 18th marks the tenth anniversary of Airguitar.com. The site originally hosted free PC screen savers of distorted guitars, Strumbums, and polled for answers to such thought provoking questions as, "Who was the better celebrity air guitarist, Leno or Letterman?" Today it has evolved into an online gallery offering guitar themed fine art. Site owner and artist Paul Thatcher now comes full circle challenging both late night hosts to strum it out in an actual contest. "We could use a diversion from the hurricanes, housing problems and Sarah Palin.", says Thatcher. "What a great swan song event this would make." There are plenty of ageless rockers to draw upon for advice in NY and LA. Gentlemen, the country is waiting. Strap on those air guitars.

About the Artist

Inspired by Peter Max's unfettered use of color and bold lines, Warhol's selection of hackneyed subject matter, and the philosophy that "what is worth doing, is worth overdoing", pop art artist Paul Thatcher tests the boundaries of our imaginations with a recipe of vibrant colors and disobedient lines laden with imposing texture. His manipulations encourage viewers to decipher and ultimately to complete his compositions. Through his unique approach, he provides us with an exceptional perspective on one of his favorite subjects.
