Gizmolab Announces Design Intuition(r) Version 1.3 New version 1.3 of Design Intuition(r) adds the ability to create repetitive parts. Examples are: stairs, stud walls, joists, fencing, plywood sheeting, sheet rocking, panelling, floor tiles, etc. GizmoLab recently announced the 1.3 release of its Design Intuition(r) computer-aided design software for Apple Macintosh OSX. Design Intuition(r) makes it possible for the average craftsperson or independent woodworker to produce construction-quality blueprints in minutes.
"Our customers aren't shy about telling us what they want," said Jonathan Sand, CEO and Chief Software Architect for GizmoLab. "We do our best to add every feature requested, while working hard to maintain Design Intuition's simplicity and lack of tedium." GizmoLab's Design Intuition(r) retails for $144.97.
Designed for Simplicity and Immediacy "Design Intuition(r) was created by a professional woodworker for professional woodworkers and craftspeople," said Michael Knowles, Vice-President of Corporate Communications at GizmoLab. "Jonathan has added another great feature and continues to simplify and improve the user experience."
Fast Design Made Possible with Smart Objects To simplify and speed up project creation, Design Intuition(tm) is equipped with a library of Smart Objects. Smart Objects consist of cabinets, tables, stairs, walls, floors, standard lumber, and a variety of other items used in woodworking. Users drag Smart Objects from the Smart Objects library and then size them for the project. Smart Objects take the tedium out of design.
GizmoLab adds to the Smart Objects library monthly, often based upon customer requests.
3D Inside and Out "Draw it once, and you've drawn it in all views. Make an adjustment in one view, and it's made in all views. Isn't that what you'd expect a design program to do?" Sand said. Because Design Intuition(r) uses OpenGL software, users can view their designs in 3D to get a strong idea of what the finished product will look like.
The Bill of Materials list Good quality shop drawings help you create quality finished work. The new bill of materials view can be printed out, so when you're at the lumber store, you know exactly what to purchase. "It's a computer, it ought to eliminate headaches and tedium," says Sand.
